Party and Charter Boats
Want to experience some of the most legendary waters in American ocean lore? The waters off of Florida’s southwest coast give you just that, and for about $40/person one can experience them aboard a party boat for a full day. Guests also have the option of sailing on a charter boat, which averages at $400/person for a full day and comes equipped with an on-board expert.

Bird Watching
Those who have an appreciation for winged creatures will find Southwest Florida to be a bit of a paradise on earth, as the diversity of bird life on the island is at once both stunning and shocking. In sizes ranging from smaller than your pinky to over 4 feet tall, the area’s birds beguile birdwatchers from around the world to pack their binoculars and witness the spectacle.

Tarpon Migrations
During the months of April through June, one can bear witness to one of the planet’s largest annual tarpon migrations. Tarpons are amazing fish which can reach up to 8 feet in length in full adult size, so it’s no wonder that fishermen and regular folk from around the country gather here to compete and witness the spectacle that ensues.

Kayaking and Canoeing
Those who rent a kayak or a canoe will be treating themselves royally, as they’ll then be able to thread their way through water-dense Southwest Florida, following their whimsy through miles of estuaries, rivers, creeks, and more. Hire a nature guide for an experience you’ll never forget as they inform you of the unique plant and animal life that you’ll be rushing by.
